Himalayan Salt ‘Sole’

Since discovering the pink salt caves in the Himalayan mountains, more and more uses have been discovered for it. Everything from using it like regular salt, to salt lamps for purification, to inhaling air that has passed over the salt, to using it in bath bombs, or for massage.

One way that is just starting to gain popularity in the health and wellness community, is a product called ‘sole’, which is nothing more that purified or distilled water that has become fully saturated with the salt. This is then added to pure water in small amounts (typically a teaspoon at a time) and consumed.

Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • Himalayan pink salt crystals
  • Purified or distilled water
  • 2 cup wide-mouth Mason jar

Directions:

Fill the mason jar half-way with the salt crystals. Add purified or distilled water to fill the remainder of the jar. Place the lid on (does not need to be pressure sealed) and let sit for 24 hours.

That’s it! Now, to use it, simply take 1 tsp of the sole out of the jar and add it to an 8-ounce glass of water. If the taste is still too strong, add a teaspoon or two of lemon juice. You can also add some apple cider vinegar to make the health benefits of this solution even stronger.
