Introduction: Balance

Welcome, fellow traveler. I’m grateful that we have this chance to connect. If you’re reading this, then there is one thing that I know about you, and that is that we are of similar mindsets. We are seeking answers for life’s most challenging questions. Why are we here? Where have we come from? Where are we going? How do we get there? And, perhaps most importantly, why would we want to go?

These are the questions that have been on my mind since early in my childhood, and though I’ve come quite a long way since then, I realize I still have so much longer to go. Along the way, I’ve met some amazing individuals who have helped me to open my mind and heart to deeper and deeper understandings of the ways of our cosmos, and I’ve met some fantastic people who I have been able to help as well. But that’s the way things are supposed to be, yeah? Isn’t that one of the main reasons we have all come to this tiny rock? I would hope so. For if the reason is anything other than to be a part of the continual development of mankind towards a higher understanding and greater peace, then I’m on the wrong tiny rock.

By now you may be wondering what Eating Write is going to be about, and how that name came to be. As the tagline states, there are three primary focal points of this blog: Books, Food, and Mental Health. You may not yet understand the link between these three, but trust me, they have more than a cursory connection. What we put into our bodies affects our minds, and what we put into our minds affects our bodies. And both of these affect our outlook on life, our willingness to participate in the greater goals of creation, and our ability to contemplate and understand the challenges we face. If one of these is negatively impacted, even if the other two are strong and pure, we will not advance.

All three must be in alignment in order to move. If that alignment is negatively balanced, the movement will be away from our purpose. But if they are positively balanced, our life will move towards our purpose. It really is that simple. Most of our struggles in life stem from our desire to move towards our purpose, yet we don’t realize the negative impacts that are weighing us down. We simply believe we are failing, because we can’t move in the direction of our heart’s desire, which is where we find our purpose.

Over the course of the next few weeks, I will discuss each of these three balance points in more detail, as well as share bits and pieces from my journey. It is my hope that, in learning more about what I have experienced and how I have applied those learning opportunities to advance mentally, physically, and spiritually, you may find your own life advancing as well.
